ABOUT ME

Hyunsu Oh is an assistant professor of sociology at Louisiana State University investigating systemic inequalities in societal institutions, including health, labor markets, and the criminal justice system, at the intersection of race, gender, and social class.

Hyunsu has distinguished for his research with fellowships and awards from the Pacific Sociological Association, the University of California, Merced, the Korean National Student Aid Foundation, and Hanyang University. His research has appeared in and forthcoming to Sociological Perspectives, Sociological Research Online, Critical Criminology, Policing &Society, Crime & Delinquency, Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, Research in the Sociology of Heath Care, Socius: Sociological Research for a Dynamic World, and other outlets.

As a social science educator, he provides students critical thinking from sociological perspectives with data-driven skills.
